Optical Comparators Instrument Information
An optical comparator is a precision measurement device that uses light and lenses to magnify and project the silhouette of an object onto a screen for inspection. In a typical setup, the workpiece is placed on a stage, and a light source projects its shadow through a series of lenses. The magnified image is then compared to measurement overlays or digital readouts to assess dimensions, shapes, and defects with high accuracy.

Common Uses
Accurate dimensional measurement of complex machined parts with many different attributes (holes, chamfers, steps, etc.) or parts too long for other measurement devices.
