Decade Box Instrument Information
Test instruments which use a series of resistors, capacitors, or inductors to simulate very specific electrical values over a very wide range. The boxes consist of switches and resistors, capacitors, or inductors arranged in a “decade”. The “decades” are set up in factors of ten and any value, 0 through 9, can be selected. The individual components can then be switched on or off to form any value within its range.

Common Uses
- Very precise, quick testing of electrical systems and prototypes.
- Calibrating other electrical equipment, such as a transmitter, controller or multimeter.
