Megohmmeter Instrument Information
An electronic device containing a generator, deflecting coil, terminals and measurement readout used to measure the resistance of an insulator. The terminals (or leads) are placed across the insulation and voltage is applied for a set period of time.

Common Uses
- Measuring the resistance of insulating components, such as cable jackets, at the time of commissioning and as part of maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment and installations starters.
