Concentricity Gage Instrument Information
A benchtop measuring device containing an indicator on one end and a device for holding a round object on the other. The tip of the indicator is placed on the round object having its concentricity checked. The object is then rotated on the device’s rollers while the indicator provides feedback on the highs and lows of the parts cylindrical characteristics. Checking concentricity is quite difficult and is reserved for high-precision parts, where checking for run-out is not sufficient enough.

Common Uses
Determining the concentricity of a machined cylindrical or spherical part where these tolerance are extremely tight, such as a piston head.
