Tapered Thread Plug Gages Instrument Information
A metallic cylinder, containing a handle, machined to a precise diameter and taper and threaded to a precise size, with the threads removed and machined flat towards the back portion of the gage. The gage is screwed into the internal thread of a tapered machined part. The machined thread is considered in tolerance if the flat notch is within one turn (plus or minus) from being flush with the end of the thread.
