Pi Tapes Instrument Information
A metallic tape with graduated markings (typically representing .025″) on one side, with a vernier scale below. For checking outside diameters, the tape is wrapped around the object to be measured and tightened to 5 pounds of tension. The vernier scale is then compared to the graduated markings to find an accurate reading. The process is similar for inside diameters.

Common Uses
- Quick measuring of diameters (outside and inside) of round machined parts, such as a pipe, hose, tube or sphere.
